Sincethe twentieth century, the workplace has slowly but gradually changedto embrace various technologies. The technological advancement hasbrought about the current digital age, which has become part ofalmost every aspect of work life (Brynjolfsson &amp MacAfee, 2014).Consequently, the technological developments realized in thetwenty-first century have introduced changes in the business world.The investors have shifted from building new things to manipulatinginformation to make profits. Besides, it helps employees gather,analyze, and communicate information in a faster and cheaper way.Although the technology offers a wide variety of opportunities andadvantages, these benefits seem mainly to facilitate increasedproductivity, efficiency, and time saving (Brynjolfsson &ampMacAfee, 2014). However, despite all the benefits, the technologyalso poses significant threats to the work environment. It leads toloss of interpersonal skills, increased security risks, and costs(Wells&amp Miller, 2010).

Statementof Problem

Howhas technology introduced new problems to the organizations? Thequestion seeks to explain the new risks brought about by the newtechnologies. To what extent does development of new technologiesaffect the employees? The question will investigate how the usetechnology in the workplace is extending into personal life, whichincreases productivity, but at the risk of causing employee distress(Wells,&amp Miller, 2010).

ProposedStudy

First,I will explain the important role of technology at work. Hence, thestudy will help describe how and why employers should embracetechnology to acquire more benefits and attain their organizationalgoals. Then, I will investigate the new risks associated withtechnology, which were not part of the traditional workplaces.Studying the impacts of technology in the workplace is important toexpound on its benefits and risks. It is also vital in understandinghow organizations succeed or fail in using technology to improveproductivity and business performance (Brynjolfsson &amp MacAfee,2014). Finally, it will help in describing the expected advancementsin the future and the possible business outcome of using thedeveloping and upcoming technology.
