Themain point drawn from the two chapters is about leadershipexperience the leader as an individual and contingency approaches toleadership. Emphasis are placed on self-awareness and its importance, personality a set of unseen characteristics that underlie a stableform of behavior and people in a business environment (Daft &ampLane, 2005). Additionally, dimensions of personality are alsoexamined. Contingency approaches to leadership studies those thingsthat are in relation with each other. Comparisons are also drawnbetween universalistic and contingency approaches that aim atstudying eventual outcomes.

Leadershipexperience is important in order to effectively achieve set goals andobjectives. In an organization for example, effective leadershipexperience is considered an essential leadership requirement.Leadership experience guarantees inspiration, clear direction, andmotivation to a team, as a result of lessons from past experiences. It is important because for any organization or business to succeed, leadership experiences present leadership decision styles, whichinclude decide, consult individually and group, facilitate, and thendelegate (Daft &amp Lane, 2005). Contingency approach to leadershipis also important since it emphasizes on decision-making skills andthoughts within the organization.

Thisinformation of leadership experience as an individual andcontingency approaches to leadership, can be applied when there isslow growth and a loss of direction within a business entity or anorganization. Additionally, lack of competitiveness, a clear vision, effective planning, and loss of profits, would require bothleadership experience as an individual and application of contingencyapproaches (Daft &amp Lane, 2005). If employee relations arenurtured by an experienced leader, chances are high that the teammembers would engage openly.
