Frequently,theyassertthemselves andbeginmakingup games,planningas wellas initiating activities.Asuccessfulcompletionof thestageresultsto a senseof initiation,security,goodleadershipandexemplarydecisionmaking.However,ifthetendencyis squelched,guiltis developedin thechild.Thechildthusbecomesa follower,lacksself-initiative skills,andthefeelingof beinga nuisanceto others is ingrainedin him/her. Angelica in thecartoon,‘Rugrats’ is assertiveandconfidentin theplayground.Later,shebecomesthechildren’sleaderin thesandbox.4.INDUSTRY VS. INFERIORITY (6 YEARS-PUBERTY).

Throughtheir accomplishments,theydevelopa senseof pride.Theyinitiateprojectsandfeelgoodabout themselves whentheprojectsgothrough.Emphasisisputon the teacher`srolein shapingthechild.Theencouragementandreinforcementof their initiativesresultin a feelingof confidenceandindustrymakingthem ableto achievemoregoals.However,undermininginitiationthrough a parentora teacherinducesinferiorityanddoubtsof their abilitiesthushinderingachievingpotentiality.‘Family Ties,` a televisionshow,portraysparentsinstillingthesensepridein their children’saccomplishments5.IDENTITY VERSUS ROLE CONFUSION.

Thisstagehas theolderandseniorcitizenswhohavesloweddown their productivityandwantedto explorelifein retirement.Successfulmembersdevelopintegritythrough thecontemplationof their achievements.Dissatisfactionresultsto despairandhopelessness forthosewhodidnot accomplishtheir lifegoals.In themovie`The Bucket List,’ two oldmenrealizethattheyare goingto diebuthadnot achievedtheir lifegoals.Thegoalsare listed,andtheytryto accomplishthem before theydie.
