Electricalengineering primarily involves the study and subsequent applicationof electromagnetism, electronics and electricity(Prasad,2005).Electrical engineers are involved in the design, development,supervision, testing and manufacture of electrical equipment likecommunication systems, navigation and radar systems, electric motors,as well as power generation equipment (Mehta&ampMehta, 2004).

Engineeringtechnologists, on the other hand, are specialists that are dedicatedto the implementation, design and development of technology andengineering (Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2015). More often than not,engineering technologists function as entry-level engineers inmanufacturing firms, construction, design and other engineeringfields where they apply engineering principles, as well as technicalskills. This does not undermine their capacity to take on seniormanagement positions in the industry (Bureau of Labor Statistics,2015).

Iam particularly interested in taking up electrical engineering as acareer. This has been informed by my passion and fascination withelectrical equipments particularly electric motors and communicationgadgets. Indeed, I have been handling, dismantling and getting backelectronics for as long as I can remember.

Todaywas relatively helpful in the comprehension of engineeringparticularly given that a large proportion of information obtainedregarding engineering is not always available. Getting thisinformation gives more than a cursory idea regarding the industry.

WhatI found most interesting was the information regarding the workenvironment where electrical engineers work. Indeed, I was surprisedto find that they can work either in outdoors or even indoorenvironment. I wish I could obtain information regarding the averagelevel of education and experience that is acceptable particularly incommunication industries.

Perhapsone of the fundamental recommendations and encouragements regardingthe engineering field is the fact that there is favorable job outlookin the field given the fact that electrical engineers are prettyversatile in the development and application of the dynamic andemerging technologies.
